Geography

At Churchwood Primary School, our primary goal is to spark curiosity and enthusiasm about the world, its creation, development, and the profound impact of human actions on its future. Aligned closely with the expectations of the National Curriculum in geography, we strive to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the world we inhabit. Our aim is to instil in students a heightened awareness of the valuable lessons embedded in past geographical events and human activities, shaping the world as we know it today.

Geography in EYFS

In the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), geography skills are taught through knowledge and understanding of the world. They observe, find out about, and identify features in the place they live and the natural world. They find out about their environment, and talk about those features they like and dislike through exploration and investigation.
