Local Businesses Join The Burgess Hill Academy for Successful Community Engagement Event
The Burgess Hill Academy hosted a successful Community Engagement Event in October, welcoming local businesses and neighbouring schools to meet students, tour the school, and engage with the academy’s vibrant community. The event, which showcased the school’s achievements and facilities, included a special presentation and live entertainment from the school’s house band. Guests were treated to tea and scones, rounding off a day of networking and celebration.
One of the event’s key moments was Principal Karen Clinton’s presentation of a thank you plaque to Christine Muschamp, President of The Burgess Hill District Lions. The Lions’ generous donation of an outdoor gym, now a popular fixture at the academy, was formally recognised.
“I am delighted with how the event turned out,” said Karen Clinton. “Welcoming local businesses and neighbouring schools to witness our students' successes and the positive environment here was fantastic. I look forward to hosting similar events in the future.”
She continued, “The Burgess Hill District Lions raise money for local, national, and international projects and participate in service activities for all age groups. We are incredibly grateful for their work in our community."
Christine Muschamp added, “We are delighted to provide the outdoor gym as part of the 'Outdoor Classroom Project', which integrates maths and English learning through gardening experiences. The event was a great success, and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to try out one of the new pieces of gym equipment. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with the academy and wish them continued success.”
The event was a triumph, cementing ties between the academy and the local business community. The Burgess Hill Academy is eager to make this an annual event, providing further opportunities for collaboration and community engagement.
