Local Community's Generosity Boosts Pound Hill Infant Academy with Over £9,000 Raised
In a remarkable display of community spirit, the Friends of PHIA have raised over £9,000 for Pound Hill Infant Academy this year through a series of events and activities. The strong support from the academy community has been instrumental in achieving this impressive figure, reflecting a collective commitment to the academy’s success.
The funds raised this year, combined with last year’s contributions, have resulted in over £13,000 being reinvested into the academy. This significant financial boost has already begun to benefit the academy and its pupils, enhancing their educational experiences and easing financial burdens on families.
Among the key allocations of these funds is £3,300 directed toward enriching the curriculum with year group trips. Notable trips include Year 2’s visit to London and the London Eye, Reception’s exploration of the Brighton Sea Life Centre, and Year 1’s adventure to Wakehurst. These trips, supported by the raised funds, have reduced the cost for parents by £10 per pupil, making these valuable educational experiences more accessible.
Elizabeth Davis, Principal PA at Pound Hill Infant Academy, expressed her gratitude and highlighted the broader impact of the fundraising efforts: "It has been an eventful year. These events do raise important funds for the academy, but most importantly, they bring the academy community together, sharing joint values."
The success of the Friends of PHIA’s fundraising initiatives underscores the power of community involvement in enhancing educational opportunities and encouraging a united, supportive environment for both their pupils and families.
Incredible efforts, Pound Hill! Congratulations.
