Forest Schools

We have our own forest school site set within the grounds of the school. This enables us to offer all the children across the academy the opportunity to access an inspirational, nature based learning environment on a regular basis.

Children can develop many new and exciting skills  by immersing themselves in the natural environment, following a child-centred programme led by experienced forest school practitioners. Children enjoy many hands-on activities such as den building, fire lighting, bug hunting, tool work, imaginative play as well as have the opportunity to follow their own interest and ideas. Forest school promotes problem solving, creativity, risk taking, perseverance and resilience. All of these skills help to increase the individual child’s confidence both in the forest school and back in the classroom.
